Introduce Yourself!
New to the Aurora Community Forums? Come say hello!
This is the place to introduce yourself to the community, whether you’re an Aurora resident, visitor, merchant, creator, DJ, builder, scripter, explorer, or just curious about what Aurora is all about.
You can share as much or as little as you like. If you’re not sure what to write, here are a few easy ideas:
Your name or avatar name
Which grid or virtual world you spend most of your time in
How you found Aurora
What you enjoy doing in OpenSim
Your favorite kinds of regions, events, shopping, building, scripting, or exploring
Anything else you’d like the community to know
No formal introduction required. Even a simple “Hi, I’m new here!” is perfectly fine.
This community is still growing, so don’t be shy about being one of the first voices in the room.
Welcome to Aurora!

Yes, Wynter is my beautiful wife, both in-world and in real life. How she hasn’t managed to kill me and dump my remains in the woods sometime during the past 20 years is beyond me, lol.
My own virtual-world journey started when a roommate introduced me to Second Life in 2004. I met Wynter later that same year in real life, although I didn’t introduce her to SL until 2008 — yes, after we hooked up, lol.
Then in 2010, she returned the favor by introducing me to InWorldz.
That was also around the time we both really started creating. As mesh and other new tools became available, an entirely different world opened up for us. We went crazy building things in both SL and InWorldz — furniture, houses, scripts, and all kinds of other projects. We even made a few attempts at creating a grid of our own.
The ideas were always there. Unfortunately, time, money, hardware, and real life rarely seemed to cooperate at the same time.
In January 2016 we created Moonlight. Since then, Moonlight has been a grid, a concept, a dream, and occasionally something sitting on a server waiting for us to have enough time to breathe life back into it.
Now things are different.
We’re both retired, we have more time to work on the things we enjoy, and technology has changed tremendously since those early days. Computers are faster, servers are more affordable, Internet connections are better, and we can even have high-speed Internet while traveling around the country in our RV.
That means the projects no longer have to stop just because we aren’t sitting at home.
I actually heard about Aurora after suggesting that Wynter find a project or hobby that would keep her creativity going as we transitioned from being fairly static homebodies into an over-the-road life — seeing the country, enjoying new places, and eventually looking for our “forever home.”
What she has done in just the past few months since that suggestion has been amazing.
She really went from zero to hero, not only learning new tools and techniques but also breathing new life into many of the things we originally created together back around 2010. Watching some of those old ideas come back to life with modern tools has been pretty incredible.
So now we’re at it again.
We’re starting small in DigiWorldz, learning, creating, meeting people, and seeing where things go. Eventually, as we grow and become part of the wider community of grids, we hope to expand that into a new incarnation of Moonlight.
After all these years, it feels a little like coming full circle — except this time we have more experience, better technology, more time, and hopefully enough sense to know what we’re getting ourselves into.
Maybe.
I’m looking forward to seeing what other amazing creations and scripts Wynter comes up with next — and to seeing where this latest chapter takes both of us.
